• The glow routine

With the weather we’re having at the moment, this glow routine is the one to whip up for healthy and radiant looking skin.

It’s actually a simple routine, especially compared to my usual mini-facial. After cleansing your skin as usual and applying your serum, there are only two steps: self-tanning and deep hydration.

    • Step 1: Self-tanning

During the winter, skin tends to get dull and have grey undertones. This is what the self-tanning step tackles : it’s an easy way to get a sun-kissed glow. Also, it evens out your skin tone and general skin redness.

You have to chose the right facial self-tanner though. Indeed, if it’s too dark or has orange undertones, it can look ridiculous. The goal here is to warm up the complexion and to look as if you’ve just caught a bit of sun.

Clarins makes great self-tanners. I love their Liquid bronze self tanning lotion. You have to use a cotton pad to apply it on your face and neck, just as you would a toner. The texture is milky and hydrating. This moisturizing base allows you to spread the product easily on your face so that it never leaves streaks. They also make the Radiance-plus golden glow booster which you add to your serums/moisturizers/oils to make your own custom-made gradual self-tanner. It’s great when you want to adjust the depth of your tan.

Another product I like is Hylamide’s Glow radiance booster. You can also mix it with your creams or use it neat (which is what I do). The results are subtle and gradual.

    • Step 2: Deep hydration

Here, you want to use an hydrating and nourishing mask to plump your skin and make it glow. The Origins Drink up intensive overnight mask is amazing for that. It ‘s a rich cream that you apply all over your face as the last step of your skincare routine. You leave it on overnight and you wake up with radiant supple skin. Love it!

Next in this mini-facial series is going to be my Triple mask routine.
