Last year, Weleda expanded its skin food range and added a body butter, a lighter version of their iconic moisturizer and a lip balm. I immediately bought all of the new products as I love the original skin food cream!
The skin food body butter contains sunflower oil and a mix of plant butters (cocoa seed butter and shea butter) along with glycerin and other plant extracts to nourish and protect the skin. It has the traditional skin food herbal scent but it’s softer and slightly sugary here which I prefer for a product that I’m going to use all over the body.
I’ve been using this body butter throughout the winter and spring but the great thing is that I think it can be used all year around thanks to its interesting texture. As you can see, it looks like a thick butter but when you massage it in it penetrates quickly and effortlessly into the skin. Skin is moisturized but doesn’t feel tacky. So you get the unctuous, lush texture without the greasy residue that some body butters can leave behind.
It nourishes and softens the skin without feeling heavy. It has quickly become one of my favorite body moisturizers and I will definitely repurchase it! It retails for around 18$/150ml.
