• Jordan Samuel Skin – The After show balm cleanser

If you like oil cleansers, you must try its cousin the balm cleanser. Once massaged into the skin, it becomes an oil and works in a similar way but you get the added benefits of a thicker texture that lends itself well to massage and is convenient to travel with (if you’re interested in the advantages of oil cleansing, you can read this article).

The after show balm cleanser is the newcomer to the Jordan Samuel Skin product range (I made a dedicated article on this brand here). It rejoins the excellent After show treatment cleanser.

You can use this balm as the first step of your double cleansing routine (my preferred option) or on its own when you’re not wearing makeup or sunscreen. I follow the usual routine: massage on dry skin and take it off with a wet flannel.

The balm cleanser mainly contains olive oil, squalane, jojoba esters and sunflower seed wax. Jordan has also included an emulsifier which means that, technically, you could rinse it off with water but I wouldn’t (I still prefer using flannels to physically remove everything).

If you’ve never used a balm cleanser before, the texture is very interesting. It is buttery and melts on the skin when you massage your face. It’s an indulgent way of cleansing. I love it!

The only con to me is a personal one. I’m not a fan of the natural scent of this balm (olive oil and cucumber). However, since it’s not too strong and doesn’t linger, I don’t really mind.

This is a very effective way of taking off makeup quickly while cleansing the skin gently but thoroughly. It’s a great product that I would definitely recommend.
